Beaches

Kokkari beach
The lovely beach of Kokkari has small pebbles and clean water. Sometimes it can be windy, but generally it is a lovely place to relax.

Tsamadou beach
Tsamadou is among the most beautiful beaches in Samos. Surrounded by lush greenery and with crystal water, a part of this beach is for nudism.

Potokaki beach
Potokaki is a lovely, pebbled beach close to Pythagorion, on the southern side of the island. It is organized with sunbeds and umbrellas and it gets very busy in summer.

Lemonakia beach
Lemonakia is a picturesque beach close to the tourist resort of Kokkari. It is organized and has soft sand on the shore.

Mykali beach
Mykali is a small, pebbled beach with clean water. From Mykali, visitors can see the opposite coasts of Turkey.

Archaeological Sites

Heraion Sanctuary
The tradition said that in this village goddess Hera was born and grew up. This is why a sanctuary to Hera (Heraion) was constructed in the ancient times.

Tunnel of Eupalinus
This tunnel is dried today but it used to be the aquaduct of the ancient city of Samos and one of the greatest technological achievements in the ancient times.

Castle of Lykourgos Logothetis
This tower was built in the 19th century by Lykourgos Logothetis, the leader of the Revolution of Samos against the Turks. Two Roman galleries and a beautiful church are found in the yard of the castle.

Roman Baths
On the way to the airport, there are the remains of a large Hellenistic gymnasium. In the Roman times, this gymnasium was turned into a public bath.

Museums

Archaeological Museum
The Archaeological Museum of Vathy is located close to the port. It hosts findings from excavations on the island that date from the Prehistoric till the Hellenistic times.

Pythagorion Archaeological Museum
This collection is housed in the Town Hall of Pythagorion. It contains sculptures, inscriptions, statues and fragments of graves dating back to the Archaic and the Roman period.

Museum of Samos Wines
The Museum of Samos Wine is housed in a magnificent 19th-century stone building, which originally operated as a private winery and later as a warehouse and barrel-making facility.

Folklore Museum
This Folklore Museum is housed in Doryssa Bay Hotel and depicts daily life on the island since the Second World War. It includes agricultural tools, clothes, furniture, and other exhibits.

Others

Monastery of Panagia Spiliani
The Monastery of Panagia Spiliani is located on top of a hill in Pythagorion. Its location offers a wonderful view of the village and the port.

Waterfalls
Close to Karlovassi and Potami, there is a region of natural beauty with lush greenery, small rivers, and waterfalls.

Monastery of Prophet Elias
The Monastery of Prophet Elias was constructed in the 17th century and was renovated in the 18th century by monk Gregorios. It is located 4 km south of Karlovassi.

Tours to Kusadasi in Turkey
Since Samos is very close to the Turkish coasts, many daily tours are frequently held to Kusadasi, the Turkish town right opposite Samos.
